Tiger Class

小虎中文班
The Tiger Class is designed for children who are ready to study Mandarin Chinese formally as a second language. The curriculum will include studying the pinyin phonetic system that is used in China and the basic reading and writing of simplified Chinese characters. This class is suitable for both children who have had a Mandarin Chinese immersion experience in the early years and children who have just discovered the Mandarin language and want to study it formally. Basic understanding of Mandarin Chinese is not required.

Dragon Class

小龙中文班
The Dragon Class offers to present an intermediate to advanced curriculum to children who are ready to take on more challenges in studying the Mandarin language. Children will work on building a strong vocabulary base and studying the grammar and sentence structures of Mandarin Chinese. More advanced literary works such as traditional Classic Chinese guwen will also be introduced. The ability to understand and speak conversational Mandarin Chinese and a basic understanding of classroom instructions in Mandarin is required.

Crane Culture Club

At Crane Culture Club, children delve into Chinese traditions and customs that have shaped this civilization for five thousand years. Classical subjects such as calligraphy, folklore, ink painting, regional cuisines, poems, traditional music, festival celebrations, tea culture and etiquette customs will be explored. Children learn to strengthen their Mandarin Chinese skill through cultural appreciation and emerge as respectful young citizens with a broadened worldly perspective. Basic understanding of Mandarin Chinese is not required.
